NetSuite Integration
Your TMS knows what moved. NetSuite knows what it earned. We connect the two, and then the CRM, so finance stops rekeying shipments and sales sees margin and credit on every account.
Quick answer
How do you integrate NetSuite with a TMS or freight software?
You integrate NetSuite with a TMS through SuiteTalk REST web services, SuiteTalk SOAP or a RESTlet, with a small integration service in between. It reads shipments and charges from the TMS and writes customers, sales orders, invoices and vendor bills into NetSuite. We usually start on SuiteTalk REST, because it supports SuiteQL for reads, and add a RESTlet only when the logic has to run inside NetSuite.

How we approach it
Where NetSuite logistics integrations go wrong
Almost never at the API. NetSuite projects stall on one question nobody answered up front: which system owns the customer. If the TMS creates customers and NetSuite also does, you get two records per shipper within a month. We settle ownership field by field before we write a line of code.
The second trap is the invoice. A shipment has buy and sell charges, accessorials and sometimes several bill-to parties. We map those to NetSuite lines and vendor bills so margin per shipment is real, not an estimate someone rebuilds in a spreadsheet.
Then we bring the result into the CRM, because that is where it pays off: reps see open balance, credit holds and margin by account before they quote again. See our logistics software integration service.
SuiteTalk REST, SOAP or a RESTlet: which NetSuite interface fits a TMS sync?
NetSuite gives you three ways in. Oracle documents unified concurrency limits and similar performance across them, so the choice is about fit, not speed.
-
SuiteTalk REST web services
Get, search, add, update and delete records over REST, with no server-side code. It supports SuiteQL, so we can read shipment-linked transactions in one query.
-
SuiteTalk SOAP web services
The older XML interface, still used for large system-to-system data moves and some record types. It authenticates with token-based authentication, not OAuth 2.0.
-
RESTlets
Custom SuiteScript 2.x endpoints deployed in your account. We use one when a write needs NetSuite-side logic, such as creating an invoice and its vendor bill together.
-
NetSuite WMS and saved searches
3PLs on NetSuite WMS keep orders, items and fulfillments in the same account, so the TMS and CRM read one source. Saved searches give finance a check on every synced batch.
Data mapping
How do shipments, charges and invoices map from the TMS to NetSuite?
Each TMS record lands where finance already works, and the CRM gets the totals.
-
Customer
From: TMS or forwarding software customer
To: NetSuite customer (one owner, agreed up front)
When: Customer created or approved
-
Shipment or load
From: TMS shipment with lane and mode
To: Sales order or custom record linked to the customer
When: Shipment booked
-
Sell charges
From: Rated charges and accessorials
To: Invoice lines with items and revenue accounts
When: Shipment delivered or closed
-
Buy charges
From: Carrier or agent costs
To: Vendor bill linked to the shipment
When: Carrier invoice received
-
Payment
From: NetSuite customer payment
To: Balance and status back to the CRM account
When: Payment applied
-
Credit status
From: NetSuite credit limit and hold
To: CRM account property
When: Limit or hold changed

What sales and marketing get
What are the benefits of integrating NetSuite with your TMS and CRM?
-
No rekeying between ops and finance
Delivered shipments become invoices and vendor bills without anyone copying charges from one screen to another.
-
Margin per shipment, per lane, per account
Sell and buy charges land on the same shipment, so finance and sales read the same margin.
-
Faster billing
Invoices go out when the shipment closes, not when someone finds time to enter them.
-
Credit and balance in front of reps
Open balance and credit holds show on the CRM account, so nobody quotes a shipper finance has on hold.
-
Revenue by campaign
Invoiced revenue reaches the CRM account that came from a tracked form, so marketing reports on revenue. Read our guide to logistics marketing KPIs.
What our team builds
What can F5 build on NetSuite?
Anything with an API, an EDI feed, a database or a file export can be connected. If the connector you found stops short, our engineers build the rest, from the first data map to the system in production.
-
Two-way sync
NetSuite records flow into HubSpot or Salesforce, and the changes sales makes go back where your process needs them. Real time where it matters, scheduled where volume is high.
-
Custom objects and fields
Invoices, payments, credit limits and margin per shipment as real CRM records, linked to the account, not notes in a text field.
-
Middleware you can trust
A layer between the systems with retries, logs and alerts, so a failed record is fixed in minutes instead of found at month end.
-
Revenue attribution
The campaign that produced each lead travels to the quote, the shipment and the invoice. Marketing reports revenue, not form fills.
-
Dashboards and alerts
Account health, volume drops, open quotes and overdue invoices as CRM reports and Slack or email alerts for the people who act on them.
-
Portals, quote tools and apps
Customer portals, instant quote tools and internal apps on top of NetSuite. See custom logistics software development.
Why logistics teams hire F5 for NetSuite
- Logistics first. We know how a shipment becomes an invoice and where margin leaks, so the data map starts from your operation, not from a generic ERP template.
- One team for engineering and growth. The people who build the integration also run campaigns on that data, so every field we sync has a sales or marketing use.
- Any system, any stack. APIs, SOAP and XML, EDI, databases, SFTP files and legacy on-premise systems. If the data exists, we can move it.
- Production standards. Monitoring, alerting, documentation and a handover your IT team can read. We support the build after launch.
- Scope before code. You get a data map and a build plan first, so you know what moves, in which direction and on which trigger before anything is built.

How NetSuite integration projects run
- Step 1
Map the data
We list the NetSuite records your sales and marketing teams need, agree the field mapping and decide which system owns each field.
- Step 2
Connect and test
We build the connection on the NetSuite interface your account licenses, with retries, logging and a test run on real records before go-live.
- Step 3
Turn data into pipeline
Dashboards, workflows and alerts in the CRM, so reps see shipments next to deals and marketing sees which campaigns produced revenue.
- Step 4
Monitor and extend
Error alerts, schema changes and new objects as you grow, with one team accountable for the integration and the marketing that uses it.

FAQ
NetSuite integration FAQ
What is NetSuite integration?
+
What is NetSuite integration?
+NetSuite integration is connecting NetSuite to the other systems a company runs, so records move between them automatically. For a logistics company that means the TMS or forwarding software sends customers, shipments and charges to NetSuite, and NetSuite sends invoices, payments and credit status to the CRM.
Does NetSuite have an API?
+
Does NetSuite have an API?
+Yes. NetSuite offers SuiteTalk REST web services, SuiteTalk SOAP web services and RESTlets, which are custom endpoints written in SuiteScript 2.x. REST supports SuiteQL queries; SOAP uses token-based authentication.
How do you integrate with the NetSuite API?
+
How do you integrate with the NetSuite API?
+Create an integration record and a role with only the permissions the sync needs, authenticate with OAuth 2.0 or token-based authentication, and call SuiteTalk REST for records and SuiteQL for reads. We add a RESTlet only when a write needs logic that runs inside NetSuite.
Can NetSuite connect to CargoWise, Magaya or McLeod?
+
Can NetSuite connect to CargoWise, Magaya or McLeod?
+Yes, as a custom build. None of them ships a NetSuite connector we would rely on, so we read the platform through its interface, such as the CargoWise eAdaptor or the Magaya API, and write to NetSuite through SuiteTalk.
Which company does NetSuite integration best?
+
Which company does NetSuite integration best?
+It depends on what you connect. General iPaaS vendors such as Celigo cover common SaaS pairs well. When one side is a TMS or forwarding platform, pick a team that knows shipments, charges and lanes, because the mapping is the project. That is the work we do.
What is the Oracle NetSuite Connector?
+
What is the Oracle NetSuite Connector?
+Oracle NetSuite Connector, formerly FarApp, links NetSuite to ecommerce, marketplace, 3PL and POS systems. It is not a CRM sync and does not connect a TMS to NetSuite.
