Oracle OTM Integration
Oracle Transportation Management runs freight for large shippers and the 3PLs that serve them. We connect it to the CRM, so the account team sees the shipments, lanes and carriers behind each relationship.
Quick answer
How do you integrate Oracle Transportation Management with a CRM?
You integrate Oracle Transportation Management with a CRM through its REST resources or through Transmission XML over HTTPS, the OTM integration message format. OTM can also push outbound messages by HTTP POST, SOAP or REST when a shipment changes. An integration service maps orders, shipments and locations to HubSpot or Salesforce accounts, deals and custom objects.

How we approach it
Why an OTM-to-CRM project starts with your Oracle team
OTM rarely lives alone. It sits next to Oracle ERP or another ERP, with integrations an implementation partner already built. We start by asking what OTM already sends out, because the cheapest route is often to subscribe to an outbound message that exists and send a copy to the CRM.
For sales, OTM's level of detail is too much. We aggregate: shipments per account per week, lanes, modes and on-time performance. That gives a 3PL account manager or a shipper's procurement team something they can act on.
Transmission XML or REST: how Oracle OTM exchanges data
OTM supports XML and REST integration over HTTP(S) only. There is no FTP or direct database option.
-
Transmission XML
The primary OTM integration message, defined by XSD schemas and posted to logisticsXmlApi/Transmission. A Transformer endpoint applies XSL to convert other XML.
-
REST resources
Business object resources under /logisticsRestApi/resources. Oracle calls REST the preferred option for automation.
-
Outbound notifications
OTM sends messages by HTTP POST, SOAP or REST, as JSON resources or Transmission XML, set by the external system's content type.
-
Authentication
Integration URLs support OAuth 2.0 on Gen 2 deployments. Endpoints and options vary by release, so we check yours.
Data mapping
Which OTM shipments and lanes matter to the account team?
We send summaries and signals, not every event.
-
Involved party
From: OTM customer or bill-to
To: Company or Account
When: Party created or updated
-
Order release
From: OTM order release
To: Deal or Opportunity for new business
When: New lane or customer order
-
Shipment
From: OTM shipment
To: Custom object or weekly rollup on the account
When: Shipment planned or delivered
-
Lane
From: Source and destination locations
To: Account lane property
When: New lane appears
-
Performance
From: Shipment status events
To: On-time rate on the account
When: Delivery event
How does OTM data reach HubSpot or Salesforce?

Oracle OTM and Salesforce
F5 builds it on the APIWe build on OTM REST resources or outbound Transmissions: accounts, opportunities and shipment rollups for account teams.

What sales and marketing get
What are the benefits of connecting Oracle OTM to your CRM?
-
Quarterly reviews from real data
Account teams open the CRM and see volume, lanes and on-time rate for the quarter.
-
Early churn signals
A drop in weekly shipments on an account alerts the owner before the contract comes up.
-
New lane alerts
A first shipment on a new lane is a sales conversation; the CRM flags it.
-
Fewer data requests to IT
Sales stops asking the OTM team for exports every month.
What our team builds
What can F5 build on Oracle OTM?
Anything with an API, an EDI feed, a database or a file export can be connected. If the connector you found stops short, our engineers build the rest, from the first data map to the system in production.
-
Two-way sync
Oracle OTM records flow into HubSpot or Salesforce, and the changes sales makes go back where your process needs them. Real time where it matters, scheduled where volume is high.
-
Custom objects and fields
Shipments, loads, quotes and invoices as real CRM records linked to the account, with the fields your team filters on.
-
Middleware you can trust
A layer between the systems with retries, logs and alerts, so a failed record is fixed in minutes instead of found at month end.
-
Revenue attribution
The campaign that produced each lead travels to the quote, the shipment and the invoice. Marketing reports revenue, not form fills.
-
Dashboards and alerts
Account health, volume drops, open quotes and overdue invoices as CRM reports and Slack or email alerts for the people who act on them.
-
Portals, quote tools and apps
Customer portals, instant quote tools and internal apps on top of Oracle OTM. See custom logistics software development.
Why logistics teams hire F5 for Oracle OTM
- Logistics first. We know what a house bill, a load or a SKU means, so the data map starts from your operation, not from a generic CRM template.
- One team for engineering and growth. The people who build the integration also run campaigns on that data, so every field we sync has a sales or marketing use.
- Any system, any stack. APIs, SOAP and XML, EDI, databases, SFTP files and legacy on-premise systems. If the data exists, we can move it.
- Production standards. Monitoring, alerting, documentation and a handover your IT team can read. We support the build after launch.
- Scope before code. You get a data map and a build plan first, so you know what moves, in which direction and on which trigger before anything is built.

How Oracle OTM integration projects run
- Step 1
Map the data
We list the Oracle OTM records your sales and marketing teams need, agree the field mapping and decide which system owns each field.
- Step 2
Connect and test
We build the connection on the Oracle OTM interface your account licenses, with retries, logging and a test run on real records before go-live.
- Step 3
Turn data into pipeline
Dashboards, workflows and alerts in the CRM, so reps see shipments next to deals and marketing sees which campaigns produced revenue.
- Step 4
Monitor and extend
Error alerts, schema changes and new objects as you grow, with one team accountable for the integration and the marketing that uses it.
